Self tanner were introduced in the market to give a tan to people who wish to get golden brown without actually sitting under the sun for hours. They give the body almost the same look as one gets in the actual sun tan. However, if you have already tried it and now wondering how to remove self tanner to get back to your original skin tone, then you have got various options to do so. Even though, the process of removing self tanners takes time, it can be done easily. If you are comfortable with chemicals, then there are products for that and if you are not, you can go for home remedies.

Home remedies for removing the self tanner

One of the most recommended and widely used methods for removing self tanners is to exfoliate the skin, in case you wish to know how to remove self tanners. You can buy a good exfoliants like scrub, sugar, etc. The deposited pigment because of the self tanner lotions can be removed through this method. All you have to do is to soak your body in warm water and then take scrub and massage with it all over the body. After 10 minutes of massaging, wash off the body.

You can try doing exfoliation with baby oil soaked inside warm water as it softens he skin more than plain water and prepares the skin for the action of scrub.

Sugar is a natural exfoliant. Just massage with in circular motions but remember to mix it with glycerin to make a paste of it. Massage until it completely dissolves. The process of complete removal of self tanner through this method may take a week if done in alternate days.

Going the professional way for removing the self tanner

One can go for creams in market which are meant to remove self tanners. These gives skin a lighter shade which eventually leads to removal of tanner. Bleaching is another method to remove the tan over the body. It lightens down the skin tone.

You could either buy the bleach cream available in market or you can use natural ways. Soak baking soda inside water and soak the body in it. Do not massage or rub yourself vigorously.

Massage softly and then come out of the tub after some time. Repeat the process in few hours. The break of few hours would allow the body to get bleached. Self tanner's effect fades out in time but these procedures helps to make it quick. For face, try mineral makeup to hide the tan.
