Lipstick Shades for Medium Skin Tones

Lipsticks are an essential part of makeup. They give lips a fuller look if the lips are thin and smaller look to those who have big lips. Applying lipstick is an art of making the lips look good. Other than choosing a good brand for lipstick, it is essential to choose right lip paint shade. Choosing good lipstick brand can be of no use until and unless you choose right shade. The shade of lipstick should strictly match with the attire firstly. Second important factor that should be kept in mind while shopping for lipstick is your skin tone.

Lipstick according to various skin tones

For fair skin tone, all the shades go but when it comes to medium skin tone, people get confused because not all shades go with it. In fact, only specific shades go with such a skin tone. Lipstick shades for the medium skin tone could be pink but try to avoid deep pinks. Anywhere from baby pink to slightly dark pink works. Then be careful with the brown shade. Never opt for coffee brown shade as it looks dull on medium skin tone. Instead, go for chocolate brown. Apply gloss over it so as to get the final look.

The beauty of red color lipstick shade for medium skin tones

red lipstick shade for medium skin tonesRed shade looks ultra hot on medium skin tone. Use deep reds or magenta shade as it suits this skin type. If you are not sure that it would suit your skin then apply a bit of it over your wrist. If it looks good then try it on lips as well. Stay away from orange, nude shades and purple. Dark shades look great on women with medium skin tone and so shop for the dark shades but again, keep your skin tone in mind. Dramatic colors must be avoided unless you are really sure that it would suit you.

Other than the selection of lipstick shades for medium skin tones, you must be careful with the brushes as well.

Before applying lipstick, you must apply a neat coat of vaseline. Underline the lips with the color of lip paint. Keep its shade a 2 times darker than the lipstick and then apply lip paint with brush.

Apply 2-3 coats so that the lipstick does not rub off. If you want the lipstick to last longer, apply some powder before vaseline. Then after applying the lip paint, end the process with lip gloss.

So this is how you can get perfect lustrous lips with the help of good lipstick.
