Lipstick is a vital part of makeup as it gives the whole face a complete look. Other than wearing lipstick correctly, its shade matters as well. Lip paints are inexpensive ways to look glamorous so if you wish to own some, then you must know how to choose right lipstick shade.

The basic thing that must be kept in mind before buying a lipstick is to keep your skin tone in mind. Since African American women have dark skin tone, lip colors need to be chosen accordingly.

Be careful with the selection of red. Go for deep red as this completely complements dark skin tones. Then for lipstick colors for African American women who have medium tone, red again works but again, the shade of red must be chosen very intelligently.

Then other colors that would surely suit this kind of skin tone are magenta, medium to deep brown but do not ever go for coffee brown, medium to deep pink and bronze.
