Home remedy for Bad Breath, Halitosis cure, Bad Breath Remedies

Bad breath is a common problem caused by bacteria mixed with food bits and saliva and is also known as Halitosis. Try these home remedies to get rid of bad breath.

Halitosis treatment using Parsley and Lemon

Parsley leaves are rich in chlorophyll, nature's own deodoriser. Chew some leaves regularly for fresh breath.

Add 1 lemon juice with some sugar and salt to a glass of water and drink it often.

Halitosis treatment using Guava

Guava is a good remedy for bad breath. Chewing of guava and leaves of guava tree is helpful.

Rinse your mouth before sleeping with a glass of water with the juice of half a lemon added.

Chew some cardamom seeds to sweeten your breath.

In these ways you can cure the problem of bad breath in your own home.

Other useful Remedies to cure Bad Breath and Halitosis

Brush your teeth twice a day.

Drink atleast 10 glass of water daily.

Gently clean the top of your tongue with the toothbrush.

Take health juices and eat raw vegetables as all fruit and vegetable juices are beneficial in the treatment of halitosis.

In case of decaying teeth and swollen and bleeding gums, a dentist should be consulted.

Another useful home remedy for bad breath is avocado.

Drinking herbal tea with fenugreek seeds is also effective in Halitosis and bad odour.

Common causes of bad breath:

  • Drinks and foods like orange juice, soda, cheese, onion, garlic.
  • Poor dental hygiene, not brushing or flossing regularly.
  • Use of tobacco or smoking.
  • Many cases of bad breath, however, are caused by gastro intestinal disorders, intestinal sluggishness and by chronic constipation.

Symptoms of bad Breath:

  • Fool odor from the mouth.
  • Bad taste in the mouth.
  • Inflamed and bleeding gums.
  • Teeth are coated with film or plaque, food debris trapped between teeth, pale or swollen gums.
  • Symptoms of diabetes, lung disease, kidney failure or liver disease.
  • Sore throat, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, fever, stuffy nose, a greenish or yellowish nasal discharge, a mucus-producing cough.
