Obesity

Obesity is an increased in body weight caused by excessive fat. The term is used to describe body weight that is twenty to thirty percent or more above. What is ideal for sex, height and age? There are factors that are associated to obesity, such as built and metabolism, psychosocial factors and hereditary predisposition. The basic problem is focused to caloric intake that exceeds metabolic demand of the body. Obesity is common in school-age and adolescents. To avoid obesity, health practices should be a guide. Nutrition is the main aspect to be planned properly. Foods that help burn excess fats are yogurt, fruits, pasta and whole grain cereals. Playing video games and watching television can contribute and increase the risk of being obese. The recommended caloric intake per day is two thousand kilo calories base on the dietician's advice. This type of diet is high fiber low fat diet.

For children, limit the intake of chocolates, candies and other foods that have high sugar content because this increase the risk of being obese and further complication like diabetes particularly insulin dependent diabetes mellitus. For adolescents who are much concern for their body image, advice them to wear not a large dresses instead an exact and appropriate clothes that will look good to them.

Crash diet is not advisable because of the changes in hormonal levels. For young adulthood, emphasize to them the importance of maintaining a normal range of basal metabolic index to their work industry. After two or more three months of continuous exercise you will notice a gradual decrease in weight.
