How to Braid Hair
Braids are very popular in both the American culture and in foreign countries. There are so many different variations of braids, including the French Braid, braided pigtails and so much more.
However, before you will ever be able to create any of these hairstyles at home, you will need to learn how to do a basic braid in the hair.
How to Braid Your Hair
Step 1 - Determine what area of the hair you want to braid. Smaller areas of hair tend to be easier to work with, but you can also choose to do a larger area of hair if you wish.
Step 2 - Detangle the hair with a wide toothed comb. This works best when wet, with the aide of a leave-in conditioner.
Step 3 - Create three new sections out of the one section of hair that you originally created. It is important to keep these new sections separated from one another while you are braiding them together.
Step 4 - Take the section of hair which is furthest to the right and cross it over the center piece.
Step 5 - Take the section of hair which is furthest to the left and cross it over the center piece, which should now be the piece that was originally furthest to the right.
Step 6 - Continue the process that was described in steps four and five.
Step 7 - Leave about half an inch of hair unbraided. Tie an elastic band at the end to secure the braid or otherwise it will probably fall out.
